Saudi and Spanish kings urge religions to join forces (Roundup)

MADRID (Reuters) - Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah opened an unprecedented meeting of Muslims, Christians, Jews and other believers on Wednesday with a call to shun the extremist violence that has tarnished the reputation of religious faith.

It was the first time Saudi Arabia, where non-Muslims cannot practice their faith openly, invited Jews to such a meeting. The king also invited Buddhists, Hindus and Sikhs.

"Differences do not lead to conflict and confrontation, we have to state that tragedies that have occurred in history were not caused by religion but extremism adopted by some of the followers of each one of the religions," said King Abdullah, flanked by Spain's King Juan Carlos at a royal palace in the hills west of Madrid.

"If we want to have success in this historical meeting, we have to emphasize what we have in common, the belief and deep faith in God," said the monarch, whose royal family rules Saudi Arabia in alliance with Wahhabi clerics.

Jesus tells us in 2 John not to associate with unbelievers when it comes to religion in this way or we are actually endorsing what they say and as a result are sinning!!!!!!

2John 1:7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
2John 1:8 Look to yourselves, that we do not lose those things we worked for, but that we may receive a full reward.
2John 1:9 Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.
2John 1:10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him;
2John 1:11 for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds.

Exciting times, aren't they?  Spain, and King Juan Carlos, are increasingly becoming publicly involved in the Middle East - politically, economically, and religiously.  Spain's (and Juan Carlos') "fingers" are all over the region, from a continuing peace process, to the Mediterranean Union, to a conference on religions.

Do you think King Juan Carlos is the Antichrist?

Forgive me trawlerman for not responding sooner but my blog is not emailing me when I get a response!  I have studied the king and he has some interesting attributes.  I think there was an entire book written about him?

I lean toward an assyrian, whatever that is - arab and muslim I suppose?  Especially in light of how muslims love to decapitate their enemies and what revelation says about this too makes me lean toward this theory.  That said, however, I am not dogmatic on any theory!

Thanks for the comments and come back often!

John,

Well, I suppose an "Assyrian" (do they even still exist, or have they all, as an ethnic group or nation, vanished?) would be a possiblity.  However, I think Jesus was referencing the Antichrist when He told the Jews that they would receive (apparently as the Messiah) one who came "in his own name".  If so, then I find it difficult to believe that the Jews, even the secular leaders of Israel, would accept an Arab or a Muslim, let alone an Arab Muslim, as their Messiah.  Like you, though, I am not dogmatic about any of this.  Fanatical, maybe; but not dogmatic.

In any case, given a number of things that are happening and will shortly happen (eclipses, One-World-Order, a likely peace agreement between Israel and Israel's enemies, etc.), I don't think we have long before we find out - we will either find out before the Rapture, or probably shortly after (if not at).  Since it would seem quite likely that the Rapture is "even at the door" (very near), we will probably know the identity of the Antichrist fairly shortly.  I've been wrong before, unfortunately, about any number of things, so while I look with expectation, I don't make pronouncements.

I suppose you could say I am dogmatic about not being dogmatic.  You might not want to, buy you could.
